Choosing the right intraocular lens
Together with Dr. Kretz, you will choose the right intraocular lens during a detailed consultation. He will focus on your individual wishes and needs, but will also take into account the results of the measurement of your eyes. Ultimately, you then have to decide on a lens and can choose from various models. Satisfactory results can already be achieved with a standard lens, but by choosing a special lens you can expect a better result and benefit from additional advantages.
The selection ranges from simple spherical monofocal to trifocal toric lenses. In contrast to standard spherical lenses, aspherical monofocal lenses, for example, contribute to better visual acuity at a distance and less glare in low light conditions. Multifocal lenses, on the other hand, have not just one focal point, e.g. for sharp vision at a distance, but several focal points that allow you to see sharply at near, intermediate and far distances at the same time.
Individual lens consultation for the best possible visual result
With multifocal lenses, you generally no longer need glasses in everyday life. All intraocular lenses are also available as toric, i.e. astigmatism-compensating, lenses. In addition to treating cataracts and correcting visual defects, these lenses compensate for astigmatism and ensure an even better result. Depending on your individual needs, other special lenses are also available. This is why a detailed consultation with your ophthalmologist is essential so that you can make the right choice and achieve the best possible result for you.
